A whole year. One whole year of dog photos.
When I first started my blog my intention was to photograph and create a journal of my trips in the New England area. It wasn’t until I went on my first photography shoot that I realized just how proud people are of their pets. And they should be. In fact, the only thing cuter than the dogs I have photographed is the reaction of the owners when I ask them if I can photograph their pooch. They are most often thrilled or at least flattered. Only one person has declined to let me photograph their dog and that was because the person I asked was walking someone else’s dog.
So, please enjoy the dogs of 2015. I look forward to photographing many more in 20116!

About New England Nomad
Hi I'm Wayne. Welcome to my blog.
I am a true New Englander through and through. I love everything about New England. I especially love discovering new places in New England and sharing my experiences with everyone. I tend to focus on the more unique and lesser known places and things in New England on my blog.
Oh yeah, and I love dogs. I always try to include at least one dog in each of my blog posts.
I discovered my love of photography a couple of years ago. I know, I got a late start. Now, I photograph anything that seems out of the ordinary, interesting, beautiful and/or unique. And I have noticed how every person, place or thing I photograph has a story behind it or him or her. I don't just photograph things or people or animals. I try to get their background, history or as much information as possible to give the subject more context and meaning. It's interesting how one simple photograph can evoke so much.
I am currently using a Nikon D3200 "beginner's camera." Even though there are better cameras on the market, and I will upgrade some time, I love how it functions (usually) and it has served me well.
The great thing about my blog is you don't have to be from New England, or even like New England to like my blog (although I've never met anyone who doesn't). All you have to like is to see and read about new or interesting places and things.
Hopefully, you'll join me on my many adventures in New England!

How the dog personalities shine forth! The Labs always look so sweet and accommodating. My favorite is the basset (I had one) and the sheep-fur long-legged ones that reminds me of two Italian dogs, the Spinone and the Langotto Romagnolo – but those may just be look alike. I think the super intelligent Poodles look much better when they are not dressed up or taken to the beauty shop for pom-poms… I generally like to see pet animals as real animals and not as masquerading in ‘cutsie’ human clothes.
I have enjoyed your gallery ! V.

Thank you so much! I don’t think the pets like being dressed up much in general either. The costumes were cute, though. And the pets were good sports about it.

Some of the dogs are actually posing and some smiling. The costumes are fun and especially the dog with the two red horns.
I can see you love dogs and cats as much as you love New England.
And the cat being carried by the woman with a sailor hat and all – that’s amazing !

Yes I love pets as much as I love New England for sure. The photos of the pets in the costumes were taken in Salem during the Howl-O-Ween costume contest on Salem during Halloween. They were all great subjects to photograph.

Yeah, us pet people are silly like that. “What? You want to photograph my pet???” Wow! Or we say, “Why, yes, and thank you, she IS a beautiful animal.” These we great. Some of the dogs actually looked as if they were posing. Others just wanted to get a sniff of ya!

Yes! Pet parents are always so happy to have their furry children photographed. I was hesitant to ask people at first. Now, it seems they’re offended if I don’t ask to photograph their dogs!

Well, of course, why wouldn’t you want a picture of my dog? Ha, that is funny!

what a wonderful idea for a blog! I’m in New England and rarely travel to the tourist spots.. I should make an effort to get to more places.

Thank you, Connie! The great thing about writing about the New England area is there is never a shortage of places to visit all year round. I am glad you stopped by!
