From the outside Northwood Meadows State Park doesn’t look like anything out of the ordinary.
A pond, a creek, pretty trees and a few unusual rock formations are on the main trail.
But, it’s the meadow that sets the place apart from other parks.
Of course, after a few minutes, it began to snow.
Then, just like any typical New England day, it stopped and the sun was out after 5 minutes of driving snow.
There are some beautiful views of the meadow.
Northwood Meadows is also a popular spot for dog walking. You may notice some of the dogs are wearing orange. That is because hunting is allowed in some designated areas of the park.
The photos don’t do it justice, though. Northwood Meadows is a must see for dogs and humans!

I discovered my love of photography a couple of years ago. I know, I got a late start. Now, I photograph anything that seems out of the ordinary, interesting, beautiful and/or unique. And I have noticed how every person, place or thing I photograph has a story behind it or him or her. I don't just photograph things or people or animals. I try to get their background, history or as much information as possible to give the subject more context and meaning. It's interesting how one simple photograph can evoke so much.
I am currently using a Nikon D3200 "beginner's camera." Even though there are better cameras on the market, and I will upgrade some time, I love how it functions (usually) and it has served me well.
The great thing about my blog is you don't have to be from New England, or even like New England to like my blog (although I've never met anyone who doesn't). All you have to like is to see and read about new or interesting places and things.

It was such a cool place! There were a few trails that went on the main path and I explored a little but I mainly stayed on the main trails. There is 5 mile loop where you can see views of Lake Winnipesaukee. But, since it was a relatively cold day (I went last week) and I had limited time to explore, I didn’t take that trail. I will be back in the summer to do it, though!

So, is that what a meadow looks like? I just heard a report about how are meadows are disappearing out in California. This looks like a beautiful spot!

Technically, it is a pond created by a dammed brook, according to the park’s website. There were so many beaver huts and other signs of inhabitants. Just wish I could have photographed some of them.

Wow, I must say you are very lucky to be able to visit such cool places. I am going to have to make a plan one of these days (wish hope pray) to come up your way it just looks to good to miss.

Fantastic – I love it! So beautiful but I suspect it is a tad too cold for me. Our temperature has dropped to near freezing at night and I am behaving like it is an apocalypse…:)
